Title:Tax Accountant

 

Reports to:Director, Tax

ROLE SNAPSHOT

The Tax Accountant will support the tax team on meeting the tax compliance and reporting obligations.

 

KEY DUTIES

  • Assist with the management of third-party tax service providers and track engagement status and ensure adherence to agreedupon deadlines
  • Collaborate internally to collect, organize and validate source data (e.g. Trial Balances, G/L) required by outsourced providers for income tax / VAT / S&U tax filings
  • Maintain tax compliance calendars covering filing deadlines, extension and payment due dates and information request timelines
  • Support quarterly and annual tax provision by preparing journal entries, including
  • Maintain organized tax files, workpapers and correspondence
  • Respond to internal and/or external requests addressed to the tax department
  • Other duties as assigned

 

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or degree consistent with job responsibilities
  • 2+ years of experience in tax or accounting
  • Strong organization, analytical skill with attention to detail
  • Knowledge of U.S. tax and GAAP as it relates to income tax provision preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft excel
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to succeed in a fast paced, consistently growing and changing work environment

  • Deliverables from outsourced providers are on time, complete, and require minimal rework
  • Tax data submissions are accurate, wellorganized, and clearly documented
  • Issues are identified early and escalated appropriately
  • Tax files and workpapers are auditready and easily retrievable
  • Growing understanding of the company’s tax profile and processes
